Kate Moss to wear Galliano on wedding day

By Alexander Smith

Never a stranger to ruffling feathers and courting controversy, supermodel Kate Moss has elected Sexy Cocktailjurken to wear a wedding dress by legally embattled designer John Galliano. According to British Vogue, Kate will wed indie rocker Jamie Korte Trouwjurk Hince of The Kills in a gown customized by the former Dior fixture, who was suspended and then dismissed from his post and practically exiled off the fashion map earlier this year following an arrest over an alleged anti-Semitic tantrum in a Paris bar.

While embracing the scandalously disgraced designer may seem Lange Cocktailjurken like just another of Moss signature acts of rebellion, her decision probably has less to do with defiance and more to do with friendship and loyalty to the tarnished fashion icon. Moss working relationship with Galliano goes back several years. Moss once cited an imaginative exchange with the designer as her favorite fashion moment.

Members of the model wedding party including the daughter of actress Sadie Frost and the wife of Clash bassist Paul Simonon will be outfitted in gowns by British brands Erdem and Christopher Beale.

Kate's dress attracts crowds of more than 350

Just six weeks after going on display at Buckingham Palace, more than 350,000 people have lined up to see the wedding gown by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.

People Magazine reports that at this rate by the time the exhibit and Lange Cocktailjurken tour close down on October 3 some 500,000 visitors are expected to catch a glimpse of the gown.

"The royal wedding attracted worldwide Korte Trouwjurk interest, so it's only natural that many people want to come to see the State Rooms, some of which were used for the wedding reception, and take a closer look at the Duchess of Cambridge's dress which celebrates great British design."

And, just as they did with some of their wedding gifts (they gave a Land Rover to the Mountain Rescue), part of the $28.50 adult admission price to view the dress goes to charity.

The proceeds will go to the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift fund benefiting charities chosen by the pair.

Whew, November completely just flew by and now here we are in the middle of High Low Schoolfeest Jurken the holiday season. I know I have been a little absent on my blog - I've been busily trying to finish photos so everyone would have them in time for Christmas. But over a month ago I had the privelege of photographing Lynnsey Aaron's beautiful fall wedding. When I first talked to Lynnsey she said the two things she wanted for her wedding was nice weather and for the pretty fall leaves to stick around. Well, Lynnsey got just what she asked for! Even though the evening was pretty cold she had the most beautiful day. Her and Aaron were so easy to photograph because they are so cute together. Enjoy!

You will be able to tell just how much I loved this wedding simply by the number of pictures I am including in this post. Grote Maten Trouwjurken Gorgeous, beautiful, amazing - those words only begin to describe this wedding. I attended the rehearsal/dinner on Saturday night (they were married on Sunday) and when I came home I couldn't believe that I took 800 pictures just from a few short hours. Why? Sarah has to be the most expressive person I've ever met and keeping up with those expressions results in a lot of photos. Sarah Brett were married at her Sarah's parent's home here in Knoxville. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the storytelling.

Keep Your Wedding Dress Short and Sweet

Short dresses have long been the perfect thing for a tropical or beach wedding. What bride hasn't had a daydream or two about walking down a warm, sandy aisle in a breezy little white slip dress?

But the short bridal dress is becoming more and more welcome indoors. In the past several decades, a short dress would be unthinkable in anything but a very informal - as in Vegas drive-through informal - ceremony. But this year designers have been sending such divine little numbers down the catwalk that it may be hard to resist inviting your knees to your High Low Schoolfeest Jurken wedding.

And it's hard to call many of the new short styles informal. Beautiful fabrics, lush, soft layers, and chic lines lift you up out of casual and drop you straight into Coolest Bride Ever territory. A sleek fit with tiny, elegant details will give you the high-fashion look, but a cocktail-length dress with a close-fitting bodice and a ballet skirt or flowing folds will give you a gorgeous, fun look.

You may want to try a dress with a 50's swingline look. You'll have a fun, twirly skirt for your reception, and 50's-era styles are wonderful for showing off your curves - think Mad Men. (And you might drive your groom a little mad too.) Swingline dresses work well with sweetheart, halter, or square necklines, so you can flatter your figure in every possible way.

There are plenty of good reasons for trying a wedding dress with a short skirt that go beyond mere fashion. For one thing, there's dancing. A sweeping gown lets you look lovely as you sway a tiny distance from side to side, but a knee-length dress lets you really cut a rug at your reception. On the other end of the coordination spectrum, remember that a bridal gown that's tea-length or higher dramatically reduces your chances of taking a header as you walk down the aisle.

Or you may just want your future descendents to know that Grandma was a heap of fun in her day, not to mention the owner of a pretty fine set of gams. Sometimes the little whippersnappers need to learn not to make assumptions.

Still sitting on the fence? (Try doing that in a floor-length mermaid skirt.) Fortunately, you're a modern woman who knows how to Grote Maten Trouwjurken pick and choose the very best elements to create her own style. Adding a long, flowing veil to a cocktail-length dress and you've got the best of both worlds - the sweetness of a traditional bride, without giving up your fun, modern spirit. Not to mention a touch of sexiness thrown in.

There are some beautiful gowns out this year featuring hemlines that are long and short at the same time: They are knee-length in front, then flow to trains in the back. It's a look that's intriguing without sacrificing prettiness - a nod and a wink to both ends of the fashion spectrum.

Finally, if your budget allows it, you can always get two dresses - floor-length for the ceremony and a short companion piece for the reception. There are many books on general communication, but marital communication is highly specialized.

When I spoke with a local public school principal, I asked her why they don't teach communica.

Why Marriage Problems can Bring you to Divorce Mediation

Divorce mediation almost sounds good, like a smooth transition from being married, to a new life without the Cocktailjurken 2013 drama of marriage problems. It sounds like a very humane and civilized way for a couple to take the sophisticated, gentle approach towards creatin.

Why would you want to Save your Marriage just to have Endless Marriage Trouble?

"We stay married just for the kids." I can't tell you how many times I heard that from really good people; couples who were willing to endure almost anything for the sake of their children. They only wanted to save their marriage so their children would.

How to Stop Divorce of your Second Marriage

It doesn't matter if it's your first marriage, second marriage, third or 15th, if you don't know how to be married, none of them will work. I can assure you that 99% of all people who filed for divorce said it was their spouse's fault, they were innocent.

Kate Middleton Wedding Gown on Display for Public at Buckingham Palace

The nuptials were months ago and the duke and duchess are already settling into married life, but there's no reason to forget Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding day.

Beginning Saturday, Buckingham Palace will host an exhibit with Lange Cocktailjurken some of the most memorable ornaments from William and Kate's special day: the 3-foot-high wedding cake, the glittering Cartier tiara borrowed from the Cocktailjurken 2012 Queen and, of course, the gown that spurred a ripple of copycats and envious brides around the world.

"I think the thing that people will really see when they come here to view the dress is just how beautiful the detail is," said curator Caroline de Guitaut of the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen design.

The satin-gazar and lace wedding dress was handmade at the Royal School of Needlework by staff, tutors, graduates and students from around the world. As they applied yards-long lace appliqu茅 to the dress, they washed their hands every half hour to ensure it stayed immaculate.

One of the themes laced through each part of the exhibition is the duchess' desire for simplicity and tradition. "She didn't want to make a statement," said Shane Connolly, artistic director of flowers, of Kate's lily of the valley and hyacinth bouquet.

Simple, maybe. But boring? Not at all. bruidsmeisjes jurken The proof is in the pudding or, well, the cake. Each of its five layers is adorned with edible flowers: 17 variations, according to cake designer Fiona Cairns.

Although visitors might not get close enough to slip their feet into the bride's size 8 Alexander McQueen heels, it's still a treat for those who didn't get a coveted invite to the wedding.

Ireland has been building her brand since 1993, when she founded Kathy Ireland Worldwide.

Ireland was exposed to entrepreneurship and a good work ethic early in life. Her mother sold Avon cosmetics, cleaned houses, babysat and later went to school to study nursing. Her father worked for a retail clerks union and took the family to rallies with labor leader Cesar Chavez.

She went into modeling at 17 but said she never felt it was her calling. Ireland said she wonders if being a model made Trouwjurk Lange Mouw some people take her less seriously as an entrepreneur. Still, she's grateful for the experience.

''It exposed me to the best designers in the world, to people of all different cultures," said Ireland. ''But I felt like I was a business person already when I started.''

After much rejection, Kathy Ireland Worldwide's first product was socks, which were sold exclusively by Kmart. When Kmart fell on hard times and declared bankruptcy in 2002, it hurt her business.

She learned that it was not a good business move to have one product with one company.

''We expanded the brand to include a whole line of apparel and accessories, but we quickly learned that it was not good to have one channel of distribution,'' she said.

Hitting the big time

Today, Kathy Ireland Worldwide works with a variety of companies, such as Mon Cheri Bridals and flooring company Shaw Industries, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, which is owned by Warren Buffett.

Ireland said part of her success is due to her team of 37 employees, many of whom have worked together for more than 20 years. She also does not believe in rushing into any business arrangement. The Mon Cheri Bridals partnership was seven years in the making, she said.

Joyce Lee, the co-owner of Potomac Bridals in Hagerstown, Md., is one of many bridal shops that carries the collection.

''With Kathy Ireland, they have very different, unique looks that kind of appeal to a variety of different brides,'' said Lee. in order to get a jump on work. ''It would be really difficult to give that up.''

Kate's wedding dress designer 'revealed'

Sound the Vintage Trouwjurk trumpets: Kate Middleton's wedding dress designer has been revealed!

According to Yvonne Yorke, Huffington Post's royal correspondent, designer Sophie Cranston of the Lib label Avondjurken has been busily working away at the gown for the past four months.

While the report has not been confirmed by Buckingham Palace, the designer's identity has reportedly been kept a secret in accordance with palace wishes, so she could, well, actually work, instead of fend off the paparazzi.

Kate's honeymoon wardrobe designed by Victoria Beckham

At a friend's wedding in Yorkshire this January, Kate stepped out in a Lib black velvet coat, which is being treated as a minor clue in the mystery surrounding what Kate will wear on D-Day (ie, wedding dress day, April 29).

There has been much speculation that the designer would be a relative unknown designer, while many in the fash press are still hoping it's going Vintage Trouwjurk to be Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

So in case you're not familiar with Sophie's work, here are five things you need to know, right now:

According to her bio, Sophie "studied fashion design and honed her skills in the backrooms in Savile Row and Bellville Sassoon" and won the Designer of the Year Award at London's Graduate Fashion Week in 1999. The award has previously won by the likes of John Galliano, Christopher Bailey and Alexander McQueen.

She's one of the lucky Brit designers who actually worked for McQueen. She then founded Temperley with Alice Temperley in 2000 and started her own label two years later.

Her signature work? It's a mix of vintage-inspired designs, with flamenco-influenced dresses and lots and lots of colour (although, we're thinking a royal wedding is calling for a white dress!).

We wanted to approach her with the idea of our "Babe Thermometer," but we Vintage Trouwjurk quickly figured out that the idea would get shot down in a heartbeat when we suggested where the thermometer should be placed.

Kaze no Stigma <a href="http://www.yamlodress.nl/trouwjurken/trouwjurken-2012.html">Trouwjurk 2012</a> Complete Season 1 Part 2

Losing some of its energy and enthusiasm, the second half of the season draws to a close Avondjurken 2013 with more of Kazuma past revealed.

What They Say

The only person with a chance to melt Kazuma's chilly exterior is the same red-hot firebrand who incinerated his chances of a happy home life. Ayano is the smoldering redhead who issued a royal beat-down to her cousin and staked her claim to the Kannagi Clan's sacred sword.

This stubborn flame thrower is a prodigy when it comes to making things explode, but she fights with an enraged, reckless abandon that could get her burned. Put her in the same room as Kazuma, and there's bound to be fireworks. Trouble looms on the horizon, and a pairing of Wind and Fire is Tokyo's best bet to survive the night and see the light of day - provided it can take the heat.

The Review!

Audio:

FUNimation has given Kaze no Stigma a very good release when it comes to the audio as the series has a fair bit of action to it. The original Japanese language track is presented in its stereo format encoded at a meager 192kbps while the English language mix is in 5.1 at 448kbps. Both tracks are solid enough when it comes to the basics and what we get out of the Japanese track is essentially a solid forward soundstage mix that at times fairly center oriented. The English mix with its 5.1 bump up adds a bit more bass to the whole experience as well as generally raising the volume level a bit. I liked the English presentation overall as it does have more oomph and impact to it, but I drawn more to the way the Japanese presentation comes across simply because of my preference of the language itself and the flow of it. Both are good tracks however that are problem free.

Video:

Originally airing in 2007, Kaze no Stigma is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.78:1 and is enhanced for anamorphic playback. The series is really strangely laid out as it a twenty four episode show and this set contains the second twelve episodes. While I expected a six/six two disc format, I got a seven/five two disc format instead. The extras on the second volume do take up a small bit of space, but nowhere near enough to require this kind of layout. The release looks really good overall as Gonzo has created a work with lots of vibrant colors that stand out well. In some ways, it doesn feel like a Gonzo series and some of that comes from the visual design of it. The transfer is similar to a lot of what FUNimation has been putting out in that there is some noise to be found in some of Trouwjurk Lange Mouw the darker scenes, but by and large the majority of people will be pleased by how it looks. Colors are generally solid, cross coloration is blissfully absent and line noise is very minimal when looking at the twelve episodes in total.

Packaging:

Kaze no Stigma really surprised me with the first volume in with its packaging as it avoided the traditional FUNimation half season model. Instead of the slipcover and the two thinpak cases, we get a single sized clear keepcase with two discs inside on one side. I prefer the other method as we get something that feels a bit weightier and it allows for more artwork and design options. This release has a good looking cover with the main duo of Ayano and Kazuma together looking serious as the flames rise around them, serious expressions and all. The background colors are a bit drab but it allows for the character artwork to really stand out and draw you in. The back cover uses the same kind of background but with a full length shot of Ayano in a rather good dress as she wields her fiery blade. The summary covers the main story elements quite well in the space allotted and there are a few very small pictures from the show just above it that don help it too much. The extras are clearly listed and the remainder is given over to standard production and technical information. There a lot of open space here which I think works well instead of feeling too empty. The release does provide for some reverse side artwork that really nice as it has the main trio done to a similar look as the front cover but spread out as they work together. Other than the choice of the keepcase over the thinpaks, I really like how this release looks.

Menu:

The menu design is done using the same elements as the front cover in a really nice way. The background is kept the same for both volumes and the little side tab is shifted to the bottom where the menu navigation selections are just above it. The cover art for the characters is split up though so that the first volume has just Ayano by herserlf, which looks quite imposing, and the second volume features Kazuma. They very simple menus similar to the way the cover is laid out and it very appealing as it gives it a serious feel. Submenus load quickly and the navigation is quick and easy. The discs don read our players language presets though which continues to disappoint me after all these years.

Extras:

The extras section has some cute pieces to it, though it does feel a bit like actresses gone wild except for the fact that it pales next to what I seen some US voice actresses do at conventions. The first extra is broken up into three parts where it essentially follows three of the Japanese voice actresses as they do an event prior to the DVD release and then two of them off exploring Kobe. Also included in the release on the second volume is the clean version of the opening sequence and the two closing sequences.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)

The first season of Kaze no Stigma was really a surprise since I wasn expecting such a fun show from Gonzo. I had such mixed luck with a lot of their more recent shows and when I found out this was from them, it left me a bit uncertain. The first season introduced some fun ideas, a decent concept and a solid enough traditional execution that it all flowed together well. It wasn the best of this particular genre, but it had a nicely defined world and it progressed well as we got to understand the core characters and the familial relationships that play a decent sized role in all of this as well as all the magic. There was a rather good arc that reached a climax with that set which allowed for this half of the show to stake out new ground.

Unfortunately, it felt like a lot of the energy and enthusiasm that the first half of the season had falls a bit flat for a lot of this half. Not surprisingly, the first chunk of episodes for Kaze no Stigma in this set go for some simple standalone stories that revolve around secondary characters and establishing a bit of humor. There even the predictable hot spring episode that we get to as everyone ends up there for some fun. The only main twist really given to these early episodes is the introduction of Catherine McDonald, an up and coming fire magic user from America who has a powerful family name behind her as well. She clashes with Ayano right from the start and amusingly gets Kazuma on her side, though he doing it for a bit of a crafty reason that nobody else gets for a bit. Catherine brings a bit of chaos to the show since she boisterous and outgoing which in turn throws Ayano off her game in a few predictable ways.

Where a lot of this season goes is in two directions, both tied together. Mixed into some of the standalone stories is the growing problem of a number of magic based powered people showing up throughout the city causing problems. Some are plainly silly while others are your basic street toughs that are making their names known. What different with all of this is that they talking and acting as though they making progress in a video game, leveling up and gaining new powers as they changed classes and the like. It all real world, but the trappings of what they doing play this particular avenue out. Kazuma and Ayano get involved in all of it, Kazuma working with Tachibana over it, and they start to make some discoveries about a group called Pandemonium that organizing all of this for some mysterious purpose.

The aspect of Pandemonium really doesn feel like it belongs in this show since it a bit too gaming oriented and the characters even say as much and it felt like it reduced the seriousness of it. On the flip side, Pandemonium does have some elements to it that work out well towards the end. Those that are running it have connections to Kazuma from his time spent in Europe as they a powerful group from there. Kazuma past has certainly been touched upon at times in the first half of the season, mostly in direct relation to events when he left, but here we get to see what he did with his time in Europe and the people he spent it with. Namely, an attractive young woman named Tsui-Ling that won over his heart, though events didn play out in a way that worked for the two of them. The changes he went through while there, and the things that happened that caused him to come back, are all wrapped up in Pandemonium.

Not surprisingly, there things going on within Pandemonium that end up sending Kazuma over the edge when he discovers it since it relates heavily to his past. This is a predictable angle unfortunately and we end up with a good chunk of the last part of this arc where Kazuma is your generally unthinking bad guy out for revenge and he doesn care who gets in his way, including those closest to him. It doesn have a lot of real impact to it since he is kept off screen for more of it than I expected, but it also just too early and too quickly done for him to become this way, especially after all he done with his younger brother and with Ayano. This particular angle just felt forced in the storyline to give it more tension and to provide something more interesting than the terribly dressed villain himself who sits on a throne. That villain and Pandemonium plans are pretty unimportant as it plays out as the focus is much more on what going on with Kazuma and the manipulations made upon him. And unfortunately, Kazuma is forced to be out of character for a lot of it and that lessens the overall impact.

In Summary:

The first half of Kaze no Stigma was a lot of fun and it had me really interested in seeing this second half. Unfortunately, it feels like it lost a lot of its steam and then had a less than interesting top level plot for the storyline. People gaining powers and acting out like they in video games, leveling up and so forth? It didn work well and it even felt like the leads were talking down about it. There are things to like throughout this set simply because the characters are fun even when they bring in someone new like Catherine. But the small stories and the background material for Kazuma can sustain the whole thing. The Pandemonium story gets twisted around a few different ideas before it reaches for a big city-ending idea that lacks a real impetus on the part of Pandemonium. That said, I do like the show overall because I like the characters, but everything felt a bit weak here compared to the first set. It not bad, but it lost its way some.

Keep Your College Wardrobe Simple With Insignia Gear

When heading off to college, bringing the right necessities is paramount for any student. Whether referring to gaming systems, a good supply of favorite snacks, or the right clothing, it will Cocktailjurken 2013 not all fit in a dorm room or small apartment, so choices need to be made wisely. With clothing, comfort and ease of laundering should also be considered; therefore, college apparel makes a lot of sense. Offering much High Low Schoolfeest Jurken more than just a way to show school spirit, having some insignia gear around is the perfect answer to most wardrobe dilemmas while attending school as it is comfortable, convenient, stylish and that ever-popular low maintenance

Consider the college fleece hoodie. The design is generally unisex, goes everywhere, and does everything. The stylishness of this garment rests Sexy Cocktailjurken in the fact that it is not just a hoodie but rather a hoodie with the school name and logo on it. They are super versatile and with little details of screen printing or embroidery added, that same hoodie is now perfectly acceptable both in and out of class. It can indeed be classified in a category of apparel on its own.

Usually worn with jeans or sweats, a college hoodie can even be accentuated with slacks and dress shoes for being out and about, or dressed down with pajama bottoms and a pair of fuzzy slippers for just lounging or sleeping. The possibilities are endless and, with how comfortable they are, college students will usually explore all possibilities in the name of that comfort as well as the wash-and-wear attributes that make folding completely unnecessary.

For warmer weather or layering versatility, a t-shirt with the college name is right behind the hoodie in offering many of the same qualities. Comfort and convenience are still king with t-shirts, although it does lose a few points when it comes to being able to upgrade to a dressier style. In those instances, an insignia polo shirt is the better choice; although they require a little bit more in the way of care, it is still a minimal effort compared to other more dressy clothing. Polo's are noted for being the best option for comfort and style while maintaining a degree of professionalism.

There are many more apparel items to be considered as well, such as: sweaters, jackets, winter coats, hats, socks, gloves and hats - just to name a few. Created with the student lifestyle in mind, most college gear easily bridges the gap between providing desired comfort and ease with being appropriate for most situations, depending on how it is worn.

Much to the delight of university students everywhere, collegiate clothing makes college life a lot easier. Not only do they ensure that the wearer will always fit in whatever the setting or occasion, it can be done without having to put much thought into wardrobe selection. As an added bonus, just a few of school and team insignia items can quite easily take the place of an entire drawer's worth of other garments, conserving dresser space as well. With all those benefits, it is no wonder that college apparel is the perfect answer to the wardrobe questions of college students everywhere!

Kate Middleton Wears Kimono Style Jenny Packham Dress For Arrival On Asia Tour

You've got to hand it to the Duchess of Cambridge - she puts a lot of thought into dressing appropriately for every occasion. Take the pink kimono style dress she's wearing as she touches down at Singapore airport for the beginning of her tour around Asia and the South Pacific. Kate commissioned UK designer Jenny Packham to design the Asian-influenced dress, which also features an orchid pattern - to symbolise the fact that the Royal couple will be visiting the Singapore Botanical Gardens, to view an orchid designed for William's mother the Princess of Wales.

In fact, Kate's following in Diana's fashion footsteps by choosing such a symbolic bespoke creation. The Princess of Wales was well known for working with her favourite designers to create outfits for her foreign tours that represented the country she was visiting's style and heritage. So does this mean we can expect more Asian influenced outfits on her 11-day tour, which will see her travelling through from Malaysia to Singapore, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu? We're thinking flatforms and hula skirts?

Well if Kate's Fash Tour of Canada and LA - not to mention her first outfit of this tour - is anything to go by, we reckon whatever the design, she'll continue to champion British designers abroad. You'll remember those knee-length frocks, from the likes of Cocktailjurken 2013 Roksanda Ilincic, that she looked Lange Cocktailjurken so lady-like in - but Grazia Daily is itching to see the Duchess in a feminine print. The floral beauties above are from Erdem's Spring / Summer 2012 collection and are an elegant yet summery option for our K-Middy. But would she ditch her beloved nude heels for a pair of matchy-matchy courts? Here's hoping.

Stay tuned for all the Kate fashion action live as it happens from Asia. More 禄

A diamond bigger than Earth?Reuters - Fri, Oct 12, 2012

LONDON (Reuters) - Forget the diamond as big as the Ritz. This one's bigger than planet Earth. Orbiting a star that is visible to the naked eye, astronomers have discovered a planet twice the size of our own made largely out of diamond. The rocky planet, called '55 Cancri e', orbits a sun-like star in the constellation of Cancer and is moving so fast that a year there lasts a mere 18 hours. .

Kate Middleton's Tiara

To put them on sale now would be impossible."

On her wedding day in 1981, Princess Diana dove into her own family vault and wore Cocktailjurken 2012 the Spencer family tiara.

, so perhaps she would consider wearing her tiara.

William's aunt, Sarah Ferguson, who is not invited to the April 29 wedding, famously wore a garland of flowers into Westminster Abbey on her wedding day. Her headwear symbolized a commoner's entering the ceremony.

After the vows, the flowers came off to reveal a new tiara commissioned Lange Cocktailjurken by Garrard Jewelers, highlighting a new Ferguson, Duchess of York.

Heirloom Might Be in Store for Middleton

Some experts suggest that the queen will give Middleton Korte Trouwjurk an heirloom tiara to wear on her big day.

"Given the multitude of Garrard tiaras that are in the royal family possession, it is likely there will be one that has carried on down the generations that she would wear," Eric Deardorff, CEO of official royal jewelers Garrard, told ABC News.

Kate's wedding dress a labour of lace

It's the dress seen round the world - the big unveil of the Sarah Burton-designed wedding gown of Kate Middleton, bride of Prince William, second in line for the throne, was one of the most anxiously anticipated fashion moments in years.

It didn't disappoint.

Chosen in January by the new Duchess of Cambridge for her royal wedding to William, now Duke of Cambridge, the design of the gown was a highly guarded secret until Friday. The Cocktailjurken 2012 handmade V-neck, long-sleeved gown from the fashion house of the late British designer Alexander McQueen is made of French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace throughout the bodice, skirt and underskirt.

The skirt is made of ivory and white satin gazar, and was designed to resemble an opening flower: padded at the hips and flowing out to the floor.

The back of the dress was Cocktailjurken 2013 finished with 58 gazar- and organza-covered buttons fastened by loops.

Tall and lean, the 29-year-old Kate wore her dark hair in cascading curls, topped with an ivory silk tulle veil trimmed with hand-embroidered flowers.

It was held in place by a Cartier "halo" tiara, on loan from the Queen to her grandson's new bride. The tiara fulfilled the "something borrowed" wedding tradition. It was first purchased by the Duke of York, later King George VI, for his duchess, who split voor Prom Dresses later became the Queen Mother Elizabeth. It was given to the current queen by her mother on the Queen's 18th birthday.

Dangling from Kate's ears were the "something new" - diamond drop earrings in the shape of stylized oak leaves with a pear-shaped diamond drop and diamond acorn suspended in the centre - by Robinson Pelham, a gift from her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, who run a business selling party accessories.
